We've been publishing work from jay042 a lot recently. One of my interests as a cartoonist is nudist comics, and I for one would like to showcase more of them here. If you know of any on DA or elsewhere, please let us know!

Expanding a bit: there are probably two definitions you could use to describe what I'm interested in:

1. Narrowly, nudist comics are defined as "Comics about nudists, from a well-informed point of view, preferably with a pro-nudist stance." As mentioned in the comments below, Loxie and Zoot/The Bare Pit is the best known example of that.

2. More broadly, I also consider the following to be nudist comics: "Comics which prominently feature nude characters, in which the nudity is approached positively and which are otherwise suitable for an all-ages audience, or, in a pinch, for teens and up". Of course, as nudists we don't believe that nudity should affect the content rating, but society as a a whole tends to believe otherwise, which is why the word "otherwise" is in the definition. Jay's work fits that one.

Allright! Have at it!

I would make a comic with my characters in but I can't draw and struggle writing. I am looking for a writer and an artist to work on my comic and it could then be added. Jay is working on a crossover but an on going series is yet to be made. If anyone would like to help, let me know. Also, I do feel like we need more naturist comic books, digital or physical.

"I am looking for a writer and an artist to work on my comic and it could then be added".
Your comic is not going to happen unless you find a way to do at least half of the work. By all means do it badly, but get your concrete contribution in first. In your situation, your best bet is probably writing it, as you seem to find somewhat less impossible than drawing. Do it. Do it badly if you can't do it well. You'll get criticism but you'll improve.

I was thinking about writing it. I still need an artist though. I struggle with writing though but sometimes it could be easy, but not all the time. The thing is, I want to write and draw, but that isn't my style. I even took art at GCSE level and that did help a little but I still can't draw people. As for writing, I do struggle with it but I am getting better and I am thinking about writing bio's and stuff to go with the comic, except it would be released first so people know about the characters.

Also, I wanted to help others get noticed so I thought I would help them out. I did create the characters for the comic and I was hoping to see other renditions of them, hence the fact I'm looking for an artist.

Actually, I just realised I don't struggle with writing, just a starting point. Maybe I need a co-writer instead of a writer. Thanks for helping me realise I am better at writing than I thought.

Just updated my journal entry: fav.me/d9uhf46

It now describes that I will be co-writer and the journal entry in Earth-N-Comics has exactly (or almost exactly) what I would be doing if an artist and co-writer are found. Or at least an artist. Anyway, I am a little more confident in my writing skills and will writing bio's and stuff soon and I hope I can find an artist and co-writer so I can get to work on it.

I also have decided I will be the publisher, editor, letterer and proof reader, so I will be taking a lot of important roles.

Just out of curiosity ... if you need a writer and you need an artist, what role will you be playing?

I can help write and I've created all of the characters appearances. I also created the characters, except for a few who I co-created or adapted. I could also publish them (or at least submit them to DA). Since it was my idea submitting them would be my responsibility. Also, I could distribute it and promote it when I can. I might think of some other things eventually.

I am interested in the idea of being a co-writer and even an artist. I probably do not have all the skills you are looking for. Also, even someone with as limited a skill-set as myself is going to want a lot of creative input. You say you have created the characters ... but what if the co-writer does not like any of them? Are you sure you want a co-author? Perhaps what you really want is a subcontractor.

What's a subcontractor. Anyway, the co-writer and artist have a lot of input since we all have to agree with what is going to be in it. If they don't like the characters then why would they want to help. I don't want anyone to work with me if they are going to change it all.

A subcontractor is someone you pay to do a specific task (as opposed to an employee who is engaged generally to do various tasks). A subcontractor generally just does one thing for a project and then leaves.

I wanted someone who could be on board the entire project. Also, I have no money so I can't pay anyone, that's one of the reasons I started the project. If goes according to plan I could pay them with an equal split of everything we make by selling the complete comic. I think I'd be better off with a normal artist and maybe no co-writer unless they really want to be involved then by all means.

Seems to be a valid link to check this out
I like the idea of this group as a way to get public acceptability of the nude in a more modern form and not just in the national art galleries of the world

I highly recommend NOT following this link. It seems suspicious to me.

I am making a nudist comic, but furry and sometimes in spanish, in other ocations with no dialog. There are no sex scenes. I will make a request for publish it here, if you don't think is proper for the theme of this group, i will understand :)

PD I would like you put in comments links of the author that you're talking, more easy

I hear there's this guy called Reinder who has decent nude characters in his comics. I'm not sure if you've heard of him, he's from some outlandish place like Europe.

Also, Arthur, King of Time and Space by Paul Gadzikowski has occasional positive nudity.

Also also, I suppose I could technically claim myself except a) they are stick figures and 2) I only ever managed to finish two comics.

We need to build more nudist cartoonists. How do you build a cartoonist?

The Bare Pit. The author isn't very prolific, and has said he'll wait until the next storyline is done before publishing it rather than leaving the audience hanging for weeks at a time. The last story took almost 2 years for him to complete, but was well worth it. For now, the archives are worth a read.

Most of the people we associate with, sure. There might be a few uninitiated out there. :)
